For those of you keeping up with our Quilt Along, the first block we’ll be doing is a Simple Star Block, or sometimes called a Sawtooth Star Block. It’s on page 61 of Lori Holt’s Farm Girl Vingtage book. (Available from the Green Forest Library).

Each of the registered members should have recieved a letter by now with details about this block, but if you have not, this website or this one both show how to make this block. You’ll need to follow the cutting chart for the 12 inch block.
I’ve heard a few people saying you’re almost out of background fabric, and after cutting out all the pieces for the irish chain blocks, and the additional 4 6.25″ squares and 8 12.5″ x 6.25″ blocks, you should have less than a yard left. This is okay. You will not need very much more of it. If you’re scared you may run out, you can always buy another half or full yard.

Here are some other pictures of this week’s block: If you’d like your block to be featured here, send a picture to [email protected], or to Tiffany’s cellphone, or to Facebook.

The orange and pink one is Tiffany’s new Scrappy version, while the purple/pink one above is from Lisa!
